A Leitchfield man was struck and killed as he rode a bicycle on Brandenburg Road.
The incident happened Monday night at approximately 7:30 in the 2500 block of Brandenburg Road when a southbound box truck struck 62-year-old Bobby W. Basham as he rode a bicycle south, according to the Grayson County Coroner’s Office.
Basham was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Coroner Kevin Pharis. Deputy Coroner James Embry assisted Pharis at the scene.
Basham, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall, was not wearing reflectors and there were no reflectors on the bicycle.
In addition to the coroner’s office and Leitchfield FD, responding to the scene were the Leitchfield Police Department, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Grayson County Emergency Management, and EMS.
The Leitchfield Police Department is leading the investigation.
