An Elizabethtown couple has been charged with murder after throwing a man off a balcony.
Shawn R. Durbin, 39, and his wife, Nancy A. Durbin, 36, are accused of tossing 62-year-old Bobby Pennington, of Elizabethtown, 11-feet off a second-story balcony after physically dragging the victim out of the couple’s apartment on East Memorial Drive, The News-Enterprise reports.
The incident happened on November 13 and was witnessed by at least one person.
Pennington suffered severe blunt force trauma and vertebrae and rib fractures. He died of his injuries on November 17 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Each Durbin was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury on a murder charge. Shawn Durbin was also indicted on two counts of third-degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest.
The suspects are being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a$500,000 cash bonds.
