A Leitchfield man is facing drug trafficking and gun charges.

Johnathan W. Burden, 24, was arrested in April 2025 by the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force and Leitchfield Police Department after Burden absconded from parole and was spotted driving a Nissan Versa on South Main Street in Leitchfield.

Burden, who also had a warrant for his arrest for methamphetamine possession, was jailed after police located multiple grams of methamphetamine, a loaded 9mm handgun and digital scales and baggies during the traffic stop, according to the arrest citation.

He was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia along with multiple non-moving violations.

In early June, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in Breckinridge County.

Burden has since been indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), four counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, hydrocodone, amphetamine, drug unspecified), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana along with non-moving violations.

Burden is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on eight $50,000 cash bonds.
