Police are looking for a man with a lengthy arrest history who falsely reported an emergency incident that resulted in a multiple-agency response.

Kentucky State Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 32-year-old Bobby Wayne Sample. His last known address, based on his latest arrest in October 2024, was in Madisonville. State police said Sample also “has known ties” to Webster, Crittenden, Caldwell, Henderson, and McLean counties.

Sample is being sought after he called Webster County Central Dispatch on November 19 and falsely reported a person being pinned underneath a UTV. The call, according to state police, resulted in “an emergency response from over 20 agencies from surrounding counties.”

Additionally, “emergency equipment was utilized in the attempt to locate the caller, over a 24-hour period,” state police said.

Sample stands five feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Samples’ whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-676-3313. All tips and information will remain confidential.

Sample has multiple arrests since 2012 for assault, retaliating against a participant in the legal process, fraudulent use of a credit card, unlawful transaction with a minor, and impersonating a police officer among other counts.
