A Breckinridge County man convicted only two years ago for dealing hallucinogens has been arrested after crashing into a school bus.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon at approximately 4:00 at the intersection of Hwy 60 and Hwy 86 in Garfield when 45-year-old Jason C. Bartley, of Irvington, crashed into the rear of the bus, which contained no students.
Bartley’s vehicle, a 2017 Ford Fusion, became lodged underneath the bus, the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office told WXBC.com.
The bus driver was not injured.
Bartley was transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital where he was treated for apparently minor injuries. Upon his release, he was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, failure to maintain insurance, and no registration.
He was lodged in the Breckinridge County Jail but is no longer listed as an inmate.
In addition to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, responding to the scene were Breckinridge County Schools staff, the Harned Fire Department and Breckinridge County Emergency Management.
The investigation is ongoing.
