A man has been jailed after being accused of raping a toddler.
Robert A. Settles III, 27, was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree rape (victim under the age of 12), first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12) and use of a minor in a sex performance.
The investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office led investigators to obtain and execute a search warrant on Settles’ phone where police discovered photos of Settles engaging in a sexual performance with a thee-year-old girl, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
Additional photos of the offenses were found in Settles’ Google account.
The toddler told police during a forensic interview that Settles raped her.
Settles, who is from Willisburg, had been living in Hardin County at the same residence with the toddler for the last few months.
Settles is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
