Mother, great-grandmother of drowned toddler charged with his murder, meth possession

The mother and great-grandmother of a one-year-old boy who drowned in a swimming pool have been arrested on murder charges.

Kentucky State Police said 22-year-old Jasmine S. Siler, and her grandmother, 57-year-old Robin L. Siler, both of Williamsburg, were indicted by a Whitley County Grand Jury on murder and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) charges.

The indictment comes after one-year-old Lucas “Lukey” Mattie, Jasmine S. Siler’s son, drowned in a pool at the family’s residence on July 4, 2025.

No other details regarding the case were released.

Both Silers are being held on $1 million cash bonds. Jasmine S. Siler is lodged in the Carter County Detention Center while Robin L. Siler is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center.
