An Elizabethtown man has been accused of assaulting multiple healthcare workers.
Timothy J. Bell, 29, was a new patient at Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health Hospital in Radcliff when, after becoming upset that he was being admitted, assaulted four healthcare workers, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
Bell, in an attempt to flee the facility, allegedly punched one employee in the face and caused a female employee to fall and strike her head on the floor.
He was arrested by the Radcliff Police Department on Friday and charged with four counts of third-degree assault of a healthcare provider and violation of an EPO/DVO. In this case, the third-degree assault charge is a class D felony.
He’s being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on two bonds totaling $6,000.
Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health Hospital provides multiple services for adults with mental health and/or drug dependency issues.
The inpatient psychiatric services include a variety of services to address mental and behavioral health needs, as well as chemical dependency and dual diagnosis. According to the organization, specialized in-patient services include:
- The Adults Acute Inpatient Program, which provides adults who are struggling with mental health issues and are in crisis with a program focused on stabilization and healing.
- The Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program is for adults who require supervised detox or recovery. The highly-structured program focuses on relapse prevention and daily living improvement.
Additionally, people with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders require a program that can treat both the substance use disorder and the mental health issue. The Dual Diagnosis treatment program helps adults manage and overcome the challenges of both chemical dependency and mental health disorders.
