A Grayson County Middle School interim assistant principal has been named.
Grayson County Schools (GCS) announced on Thursday that Greg Decker has been selected to serve the remainder of the school year as assistant principal at the middle school.
“He brings with him years of experience as a history teacher, assistant principal and principal at Ohio Co High School …,” according to GCS. Following his time as principal at Ohio Co. High School, Decker became director of district programs for Ohio Co. Schools.
He was named principal at GCMS on June 29, 2017.
Lea Ann Frank, a longtime GCS teacher and administrator and GCMS assistant principal, was selected as the new principal at the middle school.
“Frank has been assistant principal at GCMS since 2019. She joined the school in 2008, teaching 8th-grade science for a year. She then moved to 6th grade, where she taught until joining the administrative team,” GCS said. “She has held a variety of leadership roles while at GCMS, including several years on the school’s Site-Based Decision Making Council. She also headed up the district’s Camp Invention summer program from 2012 – 2017.”
Previously conducted on a three-year cycle, GCMS garnered the recognition in 2022 and 2025 for back-to-back honors. The rankings are now updated yearly and include about 47,000 public elementary schools and more than 23,000 middle schools across the country.
Rankings are based on the mathematics and reading performance of public schools and analyzed at the state and district levels, as determined by state assessment scores as well as socioeconomic demographics.
