An eastern Kentucky mother has been arrested after leaving her two small children at a shelter so she could go to a bar.
The Morehead Police Department arrested 22-year-old Makayla Perry, of Morehead, on Monday and charged her with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Her arrest came after she left her two children, ages 18-months-old and four-months-old, alone at a shelter while she went to a “brewery,” WKYT.com reports.
A closer examination of the two children showed bruising and diaper rash as well as other signs of neglect.
Perry is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center on a $2,500 cash bond.
