A 20-year-old man has been killed in a crash in Meade County.
Kentucky State Police said the accident happened at approximately 9:00 on Christmas night at the intersection of Garrett Road and Brandenburg Road (Hwy 144), about seven miles south of Brandenburg.
The state police investigation indicated that a Ford F-150, being driven by 19-year-old Kailey Kwiatkowski, of Brandenburg, was traveling west on Brandenburg Road when she crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Nissan Sentra head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, Trae McCormack, of Ekron, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner’s Office.
Kwiatkowski and her juvenile passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
McCormack was a 2023 graduate of Meade County High School where he played football and wrestled.
