An elderly woman has died in a residential fire.
Kentucky State Police said troopers, the Bath County Sheriff’s Office, Bethel Fire Department and EMS were dispatched Friday morning at 6:30 to Rooster Run Road in Bath County on the report of a structure fire.
Upon arriving and entering the residence, firefighters located a woman, 77-year-old Josephine Patton, of Bethel.
She was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling where she succumbed to her injuries, according to state police. Patton was pronounced deceased by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Tyler Smith.
