A woman has been jailed after her infant tested positive for drugs.
The Cadiz Police Department arrested 25-year-old Shytricia Saez on Friday night following her nine-month-old baby testing positive for methamphetamine and marijuana at Trigg County Hospital, according to a report by WKDZ.com. The baby was taken to the hospital after falling off a bed.
Saez told police that she invited an unidentified person to her apartment to help take care of the infant because she was ill. That person, Saez told authorities, is “known to use drugs.”
Saez was charged with second-degree criminal abuse (victim under the age of 12) and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
