A former teacher’s aide and basketball coach is facing over 160 years in prison for sodomizing and sexually abusing multiple juvenile victims.
Christopher Morris, 52, of Louisville, was found guilty on 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, 14 counts of first-degree sodomy, unlawful transaction with a minor, and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.
The victims were under the age of 16.
The jury recommended Morris serve 165 years in prison.
“This is one of the most egregious cases of abuse we’ve seen,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerina D. Whethers told news outlets following Morris’ trial.
Morris provided classroom assistance at Conway Middle School where he coached basketball and volleyball. He was also an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball coach.
Formal sentencing is scheduled for March 9.
