There has been an apparent murder-suicide involving an elderly couple in Metcalfe County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded on Wednesday morning at approximately 9:35 after 83-year-old Doris J. Huffman was found deceased from a gunshot wound at a residence on Shady Grove Wickerville Road in Metcalfe County.
Huffman’s husband, 87-year-old Vander Huffman, was also found in the residence suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Vander Huffman was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
KSP Det. Mike Dubree is leading the investigation.
