If driving Wednesday morning, use extreme caution as roadways are dangerously slick.

There have been multiple accidents, with thus far no serious injuries reported, since approximately 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The crashes have occurred on Bloomington Road, North Clinton Street at Cemetery Hill (the road is currently shut down in that area due to the hill being a “sheet of ice,” according to Leitchfield police), and a two-vehicle entanglement at the Clarkson ramp onto the Western Kentucky Parkway.

There is currently (6:35 a.m.) a wintry mix falling in Grayson County that is freezing as soon as it makes contact with the pavement.

Grayson County Schools cancelled classes for Wednesday, as well. This will be the school district’s third NTI Day.

The forecast, according to the National Weather Service, calls for the morning precipitation to end by 8:00 a.m. as temperatures will rise into the high 30s to lower 40s. However, an additional weather system could bring another round of wintry mix precipitation around noon on Wednesday and last all afternoon, eventually turning into rain as the day progresses.

UPDATE (6:51 a.m.): The Western Kentucky Parkway is shut down in Ohio County (it’s unclear exactly which mile marker) due to a semi-truck crash and multiple other accidents.
