Travel in Grayson County remains hazardous as road crews continue to work on removing layers of ice and snow.

Grayson County Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson, on his personal Facebook page, posted a photo of a thick slab of ice (see below), and wrote:

“This is a picture of what the Road Crew is dealing with … Frozen Solid FYI, that does not plow. Hopefully tomorrow will be better with rising temperatures and some sun.”

The high temperature on Tuesday is forecast to be 29 degrees with sunny skies in the morning and partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Which, as Henderson noted, should assist road crews in clearing the thick layer of ice from roadways.

The high temperature between Tuesday and Monday will be 30 degrees on Thursday. Lows are forecast to be in the single digits on Wednesday and Friday through Sunday.

While there have been no widespread power outages in the county, on Monday evening 321 electric customers in the Anneta area, adjacent to the Leitchfield-Grayson County Airport, were left without heat. WRECC has since restored power.
