
Kentucky State Police is investigating two deadly police shootings that occurred over the weekend.
The first officer-involved shooting occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 5:50 in Frankfort when the Frankfort Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Ridgeview Drive, according to state police.
The investigation showed that when police arrived at the home, offices encountered 56-year-old Bryan Radford, who emerged from the home brandishing a handgun.
Police fired at Radford, killing him.
The second shooting happened on Sunday morning at approximately 7:30 in Kenton County.
State police said the investigation revealed that the Independence and Kenton County Police Departments responded to a report of 62-year-old David Works threatening self-harm at a residence on Sharpsburg Drive in Independence.
When police arrived, officers attempted to make contact with Works, who eventually emerged from the home carrying a firearm.
Police then shot and killed Works.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incidence Response Team continues to investigate both shootings.
