Two people have perished in a mobile home fire in Green County.

The Summersville Fire Department responded to the blaze Tuesday at 12:10 a.m. on William E. Lobb Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found a mobile home “to be half involved with heavy fire and heavy smoke conditions throughout the rest of the structure,” the fire department said in a social media post.

Firefighters were then alerted to the possibility that two people could be inside the home, as their vehicles were in the driveway. After bringing the fire under control, firefighters located two deceased individuals in an “unburned area” of the residence.

The names of the decedents have not been released.

The cause of the fire and deaths remain under investigation. Foul play, though, is not expected, the fire department said.
