A Grayson County man has been arrested after partially undressing near a Leitchfield street and fighting with police.
Multiple officers with the Leitchfield Police Department and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office along with Grayson County Constable Mark Stanton responded Friday morning at approximately 7:20 to the 600 block of West Main Street on the report of a man undressing and behaving erratically near the roadway.
Upon arriving at the scene, police encountered 26-year-old Eugene T. Moore, of Leitchfield.
Moore, who was in the process of undressing, began to resist and fight with officers resulting in the suspect being tased, according to police.
Moore was then taken into custody and transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for evaluation before being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
He was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication (excludes alcohol).
When advised by police that he could not lie in the middle of the road, Moore hopped up off the ground and got into a “karate stance” with officers, the citation states.
As officers tried to reason with Moore, they determined that he “appeared to be under the influence of an illegal drug,” as the suspect told police he was hot and was trying to “cool off.”
As police attempted to place handcuffs on Moore, he resisted and refused to comply, resulting in officers taking Moore to the ground. Moore, though, continued to resist and fight with officers.
A Grayson County deputy then delivered “hand strikes to the (suspect’s) face,” bringing the battle to an end.
In that case, Moore was charged with resisting arrest and public intoxication (excludes alcohol).
Other arrests
Moore was also arrested on January 31 of this year and charged with menacing and third-degree criminal trespassing. Only 10 days prior, he was arrested and charged with public intoxication (excludes alcohol) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In September 2024, Moore was charged with third-degree burglary, and in May 2024 in Daviess County he was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, trafficking in stolen identities, unlawful access to a computer, and first-degree criminal mischief, according to online records.
He’s additionally been arrested for theft by unlawful taking (multiple times).
