A father-son murder-suicide in Owensboro might be the result of failing health.
The incident happened Monday morning just after midnight on Shelly Drive when the Owensboro Police Department discovered a 79-year-old man had shot his 55-year-old son before turning the gun on himself.
Daviess County Coroner Jeff Jones told WFIE.com that the two men were not in good health and had multiple medical issues. Jones ruled the shooting a murder-suicide.
The decedents names have not been released by police.
The Owensboro Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation.
