Amid disruptions, Grayson Co. HS students excel at Regional SkillsUSA competition

Grayson County High School students recently competed at the Regional SkillsUSA competition.

Even as tech students are dealing with renovations to the tech center building and the ensuing displacement, they boasted three first place winners, two second-place finishers and three third places at the highly competitive event held at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

Individual winners

  • Cooper Justis and James Smith came in first place in Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue
  • Aldon Evans came in first place in Maintenance and Light Repair
  • Myles McGrew and Mason Riggs came in second place in Additive Manufacturing
  • Noah Keown and Maddox Anderson came in third place in Additive Manufacturing
  • Dax Lasley came in third place in Precision Machining

“SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA improves the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of Framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics,” according to the SkillsUSA Kentucky website.
