A man has been arrested for shooting a 12-year-old boy at close range.
The Covington Police Department said the shooting occurred Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:50 in the 4300 block of McKee Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a 12-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Covington police said.
The investigation resulted in the arrest on Monday of 19-year-old Jayden T. Marsh, of Covington. He was charged with attempted murder and lodged in the Kenton County Detention Center.
The Herald-Leader reports that court documents indicate Marsh shot the boy at close range after chasing the victim.
Police said the boy remains in critical condition.
