Identity of woman who suffered fatal fall off cliff near Grayson Co. line has been released

Officials have released the identity of the woman who died after falling off a cliff on Sonora Hardin Springs Road in rural Hardin County near the Grayson County line.

West Hardin Fire & Rescue said firefighters responded on Saturday evening at approximately 7:45 “for a reported rescue involving a fall from a cliff.”

The female victim, 27-year-old Aleiana Jade Witten-Higgs, of Louisville, The News-Enterprise reports, fell “two to three stories while near the edge of a cliff in a remote area” and landed on rocks, according to West Hardin Fire & Rescue.

After navigating “steep and rugged terrain,” rescuers reached the victim and found that the woman had sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.
