A deputy jailer at a western Kentucky detention center has been accused of having sexual contact with an inmate.
Kentucky State Police said investigators received a request on Monday from the Ballard County Detention Center to investigate after a female inmate reported having sexual contact with a deputy jailer.
The alleged incident, involving 60-year-old Deputy Jailer Robert B. Terry, of Arlington, occurred in February.
The investigation, including interviews and a review of video footage, resulted in Terry being charged with second-degree sexual abuse and first-degree official misconduct.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by KSP Det. William Propes.
