Body of woman missing since January found in Hopkins Co.

The body of a missing Christian County woman who disappeared in January has been found in Hopkins County.

Emerald “Emmy” Raeann Forgette, 39, of Hopkinsville, was last seen alive during the early morning hours of Sunday, January 11, 2026, “in the area of Hopkinsville Road in Nortonville,” about 72 miles southwest of Leitchfield.

Kentucky State Police said troopers on Wednesday were contacted by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office regarding the body of a deceased female being discovered in the 400 block of South Hopkinsville Street in Nortonville.

The body was bound “near the back of (the caller’s) property,” Kentucky State Police said. When troopers arrived at the scene, they identified the body as that of Forgette.

State police said an autopsy has been completed and foul play is not suspected.

This investigation is ongoing and is being led by KSP Det. Jacob Fortney.
