Hawesville man accused of distributing images of children under 12 engaged in sex acts

A Hawesville man has been arrested on 20 counts of distributing and possessing child pornography involving victims under the age of 12.

The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 34-year-old Carl W. Warner on Tuesday and charged him with 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance (victim under the age of 12) and 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance (victim under the age of 12).

All the charges are class C felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Warner was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering Warner sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at Warner’s residence in Hawesville where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

The investigation is ongoing.

Warner was lodged in the Breckenridge County Detention Center.
