
James Harlen Clemons, age 68, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 24, 2026)
at his residence. Jim was born on December 3, 1957 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Charles Thomas Clemons and Anna Jane Criswell Holden.
He had worked painting water towers for Chicago Bridge and Iron, and later retired after over 20 years of employment with Salmon Construction. Jim graduated in 1975 from Bullitt Central High School, where he played on the baseball team and was a trainer for the football team. He collected primitives, arrowheads, and war relics. He was a lover of nature and wildlife. Jim loved to garden. He also enjoyed car shows and restoring old cars. His dog, Blu, was his constant companion and canine friend. He was a member of NRA.
He is survived by his daughter, Arah Clemons, who was by his side in his final days, and three other surviving children, April Stewart, Christopher Clemons, and Vanessa Clemons; his brother, Tom Clemons (Dixie), and his sister, Lori Vance (Andy); three nieces and nephews, Miranda Vance Dawson, Kellen Clemons, and Caitlin Bias (Patrick); his special friend, Carol Davies; several cousins; and his faithful dog, Blu.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, (April 4, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of services.
