A Breckinridge woman has now been missing for over 20 months.

Evelyn Blake, 65, was last seen Sunday night, July 21, 2024, at approximately 6:00, according to a family member — It was previously reported, based on law enforcement statements, that Blake had last been seen at 10:30 p.m. She was last known to be in the 4000 block of Old Railroad Road, about two miles south of McQuady and a few miles north of Falls of Rough in the Glen Dean area of the county.

“Evelyn suffers from early dementia and is developmentally disabled,” according to a family member who previously reached out to K105. Blake, according to her missing person poster, “has medical issues that may prevent her from returning safely.”

Blake stands five feet, one inch tall and weighs about 230 pounds. She was last known to be wearing a white shirt and tan shorts.

The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, responding to unverified reports that Evelyn had spoken to someone on the phone soon after her disappearance, released the following statement on the search on July 27, 2024:

“Until a law enforcement officer makes physical contact with Ms. Blake, she will still be considered missing. The Sheriff’s Office is currently utilizing phone records from the phone provider, as a tool in attempt to locate Ms. Blake … We will continue to utilize whatever means necessary for a safe return of Ms. Blake. Our ultimate goal is to locate Ms. Blake. We appreciate all the help the public is wanting to provide, while still continuing to maintain respect for home and landowners. Permission to go onto their property must still be given to those wanting to search properties for Ms. Blake.”

In February, Breckinridge County Sheriff Billy Richardson wrote a lengthy statement on his personal Facebook page where he said in part:

“There is documented phone activity (phone records) on Evelyn’s phone after she was reported missing and after the previous EMA called off the search … We have a lot of time in this case, and numerous search warrants have been written. We did reach out to the FBI and KSP and went over the case with both agencies. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about this case. It keeps me up at night. There are more details about this case that I will not discuss until this case is closed.

“Unfortunately, I can’t make any updates on this case due to people attaching us professionally and personally. I want answers like everyone else, and I will not give up on this case until I have the answers we are all seeking.”

Anyone with information on Evelyn’s location is asked to contact the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office at 270-756-2361.
