The Grayson County tennis teams continued their strong start to the new season with a sweep over Muhlenberg County on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Cougars won 7-0, losing only one single game in those seven matches. The win helped them improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 against 3rd Region teams.
The Cougar boys came away with a 9-0 victory to push the squad to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the region.
A highlight of the night was the team donning throwback uniforms, which were a surprise for head coach Sherry Vincent.
The boys used a shirt design that was worn by the team from 1994-1997; an era that saw them dominate the region. That four-season span saw the Cougars win two regional team titles, two team regional runner-ups, two regional doubles titles, two regional doubles runners-up, and two regional singles runners-up.
The tennis teams will continue region play on Thursday at Moreland Park in Owensboro against Daviess County. The Lady Panthers are the defending region champions.
