A Hart County man has been sentenced to three decades in prison after recording himself sexually abusing a five-year-old girl and distributing the video.
Christopher Hawkins, 25, of Hardyville, was sentenced on Friday in Hart Circuit Court to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to use of a minor in a sexual performance (victim under the age of 16), distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance (victim under the age of 12) and three counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance (victim under the age of 12).
Attorney General Russell Coleman and Hart County Commonwealth’s Attorney Kyle Williamson made the announcement.
The investigation began after authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Following the investigation, the Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations and Hart County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hawkins in August 2025 at a Hardyville residence.
Hawkins later admitted to sexually abusing a five-year-old and videotaping her performing a sexual act.
“We in the 10th Judicial Circuit are very grateful for the hard work of the Attorney General’s Office and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Brooke Talley in bringing a dangerous child predator to justice,” Williamson said. “Our office will continue to stand in solidarity with General Coleman in the fight against child predators, pedophiles and human traffickers.”
