Two days after a 15-year-old male student opened fire at Marshall County High School in far western Kentucky, killing two 15-year-old students, an 18-year-old student at Hopkinsville High School has been arrested for making threats toward students at his school.
The Hopkinsville Police Department responded to Hopkinsville High School on Thursday after receiving information about a text message sent to students insinuating a shooting was going to take place at the school, police said.
During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed 18-year-old Brandon D. Govan, who admitted to police that, while he was at school, he sent the threatening text message.
Govan was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
