On Friday afternoon at approximately 1:30, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Wax Fire Department responded to Peonia Road, at the Hart County line, on the report of an overturned semi-truck.
Upon arriving at the scene, Lt. Sonny Poteet found a semi-truck, traveling west on Peonia Road, tipped onto its side as it rounded a curve, just inside Grayson County, taking out a large section of guardrail. The tractor trailer was carrying a load of mulch, the bulk of which spilled onto the roadside and down an embankment.
It took various first responders and workers several hours to work the scene and tow the semi-truck, resulting in the roadway being closed at the accident site for nearly eight hours.
The driver was unhurt.
