At Thursday night’s Leitchfield Utilities Commission meeting, commissioners approved a yearly invoice in the amount of $21,000 to be paid to Harris Computer.
Harris Computer is the company that supplies the utility with its billing software.
Mulching head purchase
Utilities Superintendent Dwight Embry was granted approval to purchase a mulching head for the utility’s compact loader. The mulching head, costing in the range of $20,000, is used for many things, including clearing right of ways, and is capable of chewing up trees.
Embry, who said the purchase of the item was included in the current budget, will continue to price the equipment and was given the okay to execute the purchase as long as the cost is under $20,000.
Surplus property
Embry also asked for and received approval to place a 2003 Ford F-250 tool truck up for sale on govdeals.com.
The vehicle has a “cylinder out on it,” and Embry said he is “Tired of throwing money at it.”
