On Friday, the Glasgow Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Jackson Highway and Veterans Outer Loop.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found that a 2006 Chrysler 300, being driven by 19-year-old Christopher Aguero, of Glasgow, was in the northbound turning lane of Veterans Outer loop preparing to turn left onto North Jackson Hwy.
Aguero told police that his traffic light was “flashing yellow” as he attempted to make the turn, but he failed to see a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Spark, being driven by 62-year-old James Martin, also of Glasgow, resulting in Aguaro pulling into the path of Martin, causing a high impact collision.
Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. Aguero was not injured.
The Glasgow Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
