Convicted felon arrested at traffic stop after police find loaded firearm, meth

On Monday, the Glasgow Police Department conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street on a vehicle with expired registration plates.

Officers made contact with the driver, 60-year-old Jesse Massaro, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, according to police.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle and Massaro, police located methamphetamine, Xanax and a loaded 9mm pistol under the driver’s seat.

Massaro was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon (felony offender), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, as well a multiple non-moving violations.

He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
