A Meade County teenager has been arrested after police say he robbed a man and shot him several times in Vine Grove.
The incident took place last Thursday night when police responded to Sandridge Road, near Rineyville Road, after a man was shot several times outside his vehicle. The victim told police he had been robbed at gunpoint, according to media reports.
The victim was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital but has since been treated and released.
Police say they identified 18-year-old Luke Hayes as the suspect. He was arrested Saturday morning during a traffic stop on Lincoln Parkway. Hayes was a passenger in the vehicle.
He was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery and lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center.
