A Madisonville man was arrested on Wednesday on a first-degree rape charge.
The Madisonville Police Department said the investigation involved a female victim between 13- and 17-years-old. The suspect, 21-year-old Malik W. Ratcliff, was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
The alleged rape occurred the night of April 7, when Ratcliff, who knows the victim, allegedly pushed the victim down and had forcible sex with her, according to a report at SurfKy.com.
Ratcliff was identified as the defendant, and interviewed by police on April 12. Additionally, authorities said the investigation involved interviews with several witnesses before charges were filed.
Ratcliff is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
