Saturday night at approximately 10:30, Kentucky State Police executed a traffic stop on a vehicle just east of Owensboro on Hwy 60 for driving erratically.
Upon making contact with the driver, 54-year-old Donnie J. Wooldridge, of Maceo, police suspected him to be impaired. During his arrest for DUI, police located a glass pipe containing methamphetamine in Wooldridge’s pocket.
He was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), his second such offense, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wooldridge was convicted in 2014 in Daviess County on two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He is on probation for those convictions until October 2019.
Wooldridge is also a registered sex offender, having been convicted of first-degree sexual abuse in McLean County, according to the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry.
A passenger in Wooldridge’s car, 34-year-old Brandy Blue, of Owensboro, was arrested and charged with giving an officer a false name, criminal possession of a forged instrument, assault, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with five failure to appear warrants, and one warrant for non-payment of fines.
Both were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center, Wooldridge on a $35,000 cash bond and Blue on four bonds totaling $70,000.
