A Pulaski County deputy jailer has resigned following her arrest on drug trafficking charges early Sunday morning.

Somerset police said they stopped a vehicle being driven by Pulaski County deputy jailer, 27-year-old Sheila Keith, of Eubank, after she failed to use a turn signal.

In the vehicle with Keith were 38-year-old James Jones, of Somerset, who had warrants for his arrest, and a 16-year-old girl.

Following the arrest of Jones, police searched the vehicle and located 10 grams of methamphetamine, scales, a meth pipe, and Keith’s duty weapon which was found underneath the driver’s seat, according to police.

Keith was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in synthetic drugs (unspecified), unlawful transaction with a minor, hindering prosecution or apprehension, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Keith and Jones were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center, while the 16-year-old, who had a large amount of cash in her pocket, was transported to a juvenile detention center in Adair County.
