Only two days after the soccer coach at Estill County High School was arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old girl, a Lexington middle school teacher was jailed for sexually abusing two children.

Police said 36-year-old Thomas Steuart, a choir teacher at Winburn Middle School, was arrested on three counts of sexual abuse of juveniles. One of the children was under the age of 12 while the other victim is younger than 16.

The incidents occurred at his home when Steuart would bring children to swim in his pool and watch movies.

He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.

Fayette Public Schools issued the following statement on the arrest:

We take any allegations of this nature very seriously and would never tolerate the kind of behavior that is alleged in these charges. We will take any and all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our students. The employee in question has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
