
Friday morning at approximately 10:00, Kentucky State Police responded to the 66 mile marker of southbound I-65, in Hart County, on the report of a single-vehicle accident.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found that 56-year-old Jerry Carter, of Harvey, Illinois, had been driving a 2002 Jaguar south when his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Carter.
Police said Carter, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to The Medical Center at Caverna where he was pronounced dead.
