24th Annual Clarkson Honeyfest offers music, food, contests, midway, parade, and much more

The 24th annual Clarkson Honeyfest, the state’s official State Honey Festival, begins Wednesday.

There is an abundance of activities for the family planned for the week, with the festival beginning with the Decorating Contest (judging at 2:00 Wednesday).

The Midway opens at 5:00 Wednesday ($10 armband), and the Honeyfest 5K Race & Walk will begin at 6:00 at Clarkson City Park.

Thursday

The Midway opens at 5:00 ($10 armbands), with the Kids Run for the Honey held at Clarkson City Park, also at 5:00.

At 5:30, Gospel Singing will begin and feature Golden Keys, McDonald Road and the Dermitts.

A Cooking Contest will take place at Old City Hall at 6:00.

Friday

Bed Turning will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Sew Much More.

The Midway opens at 4:00 ($15 armbands) and Food Booths open at 5:00.

The Honeyfest Hat Contest, where all entries must be bee-themed, will take place at 6:00.

Live Music & Dance will keep the evening hoppin’ from 6:30 until 10:00. The featured band will be Miles Apart.

Saturday

The 15 to 30 Mile Bike Ride will begin at 6:45 a.m., and Craft Booths will open at 8:00 a.m.

The Clarkson Honeyfest Parade will begin at 9:00. After the parade, there will be a Car Show & Antique Tractor Show (at Clarkson Elementary), Tae-Kwon-do Martial Arts Demonstration (Bank of Clarkson parking lot), and Fallin’ for the Arts will take place at My Father’s House, located at 207 E. Main St.

Dinner will also be offered at St. Elizabeth Church.

The Midway will be open all day ($20 armbands). The Karaoke Contest begins at Noon, and Bed Turning will take place at 2:00 at Sew Much More. The Pedal Tractor Pull will also begin at 2:00 at the Bank of Clarkson Drive-Thru.

Live Music, featuring DiZZorderly Conduct, will rock Clarkson from 7:00 until 11:00.

There will also be Hay Rides and Carriage Rides available throughout Honeyfest.
