A man has been found dead on a train in Hart County.

At 2:36 Monday afternoon, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued a press release stating that a train was blocking Hwy 728 at a railroad crossing, just off Hwy 31-W, near Bonnieville. Transportation cabinet officials said the road blockage was due to a “train related incident.”

K105 has learned that the “train related incident” was a dead body being found, apparently on top of the train. According to an unconfirmed report, the deceased man was one of three people illegally riding on the train. At some point, at least one of the men climbed on top of the train (or perhaps jumped onto the train from an overpass) and was struck by a live electrical line and killed.

Kentucky State Police is handling the death investigation.

K105 will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
