Manhunt underway for suspect wanted in connection to shooting, burglary near Munfordville; victim shot multiple times

Kentucky State Police is looking for a Glasgow man wanted in connection to a burglary and shooting in Hart County.

Police said that Monday afternoon at approximately 3:40, troopers responded to 880 Charlie Mansfield Road, about five miles west of Munfordville, in reference to a shooting. Upon arriving at the residence, troopers found the homeowner, 60-year-old Steven Mansfield, had been shot multiple times.

Authorities said the investigation revealed that, after being away, Mansfield returned to his home and was confronted by an intruder, identified as 32-year-old Jeremy Wheeler, of Glasgow, who was armed with a firearm.

Mansfield was transported to an unidentified hospital where he is listed in serious condition, according to police.

Wheeler stands 5-foot-5 and weighs 155 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair and is wanted on charges including first-degree assault and first-degree burglary. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-782-2010.
