A Louisville middle school teacher has been arrested after requesting sexual images from a minor and then traveling to meet the minor for sex acts.
The Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit said law enforcement intercepted 37-year-old Brandon Dietz as he drove to a location in Louisville to meet a minor for sex. The day before his arrest, Dietz had online discussions with who he thought was a minor about meeting to have sex.
Dietz is a teacher at Olmsted Academy North, and a softball coach, although his coaching duties are not with Jefferson County Public Schools. Olmsted Academy North is the only all-boys public middle school in Kentucky.
Cyber investigators were assisted by the Jeffersontown Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service in the case.
Dietz was charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for a sex act, a class D felony. He is being held in Louisville Metro Corrections on a $25,000 bond.
