A Bowling Green father has been arrested on an assault charge after taking his five-month-old baby to the hospital.
On Monday afternoon, 21-year-old Christopher D. Alvey took the baby to The Medical Center emergency room. Doctors found the baby girl suffered from a bruise to her left eye, and her right arm was hanging loosely by her side, according to WBKO.com.
Alvey told police the baby was crying, resulting in him pulling the baby out of her crib by her arm. As Alvey grabbed her arm and lifted the baby out of the crib he heard a popping sound. He also said the baby hit her face on his collarbone as he pulled her from the crib.
The baby was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Alvey was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
