A report of a domestic dispute at an Elizabethtown Road business resulted in a Leitchfield man receiving his third DUI.
Sunday afternoon just after 5:00, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Norder along with Leitchfield Police Officers Chase Melton, Joe Overton, Missy Skaggs, and Kelsey Overton, responded to the report of a possible domestic dispute taking place in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar Store at 2625 Elizabethtown Road.
While officers were en route to the scene, Central Dispatch reported that the male involved in the possible dispute, 54-year-old Timothy A. Haycraft, had left the Dollar Store in a 1998 GMC Jimmy, driving west. Norder made contact with the vehicle in the 2400 block of the William Thomason Byway and executed a traffic stop.
Upon making contact with Haycraft, Norder determined him to be under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed Haycraft was driving on a DUI suspended license.
Haycraft was arrested and charged with his third DUI, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, driving on a DUI suspended license, and non-moving violations.
After being medically cleared at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, he was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
