A death investigation has led to the discovery of three bodies, two in LaRue County and one in Louisville.

Two people were found dead Monday morning on a property near River Road in northwestern LaRue County after police responded to a report of shots fired, and upon arriving at the scene, found a residence fully engulfed in flames. The body of a female was found inside a vehicle next to the residence and another deceased person, police are uncertain if the decedent is male or female, was located in the residence.

The investigation into the incident led police to a Valley Station residence in the 6000 block of Ashby Lane. There, authorities found another deceased person. Louisville detectives are investigating the death as a separate but related incident.

Officials are awaiting autopsy results and notification of family members before releasing the names of the victims.
