Clarkson man seriously injured in rollover ATV accident

A Clarkson man has been seriously injured in an ATV accident.

Wednesday afternoon at approximately 5:15, Grayson County Deputy Mark Newman, the Clarkson Fire Department and EMS responded to the 4200 block of Rock Creek Road and found that 59-year-old Dennis Higdon had suffered serious injuries in an ATV wreck.

According to authorities, Higdon was rounding up cattle on his ATV, along with one other person, when the vehicle rolled down a 20 to 25 foot embankment, landing on top of Higdon. The person Higdon was rounding up cattle with attempted to remove the ATV from on top of the victim without success. The unidentified person, though, was able to get help from at least one other person and successfully get the ATV off Higdon prior to first responders arriving on scene.

He suffered severe knee and abdominal injuries and was airlifted from near the scene to University of Louisville Hospital, where he is recovering.
